Women4Resources will have a presence at the African Community Centre event on Saturday, October 28, 2017 as part of the African History Month 2017. Two trustees will be there on our stall, providing information on our project in Western Kenya, and our work in Wales. If you are interested in finding out more check out the African Community Centre’s website or Facebook page.
Every day’s an adventure! I finally delivered £50 to the office from the lovely Soroptomist ladies of Richmondshire. I had been there on 9th March to tell them about the wonderful work done by W4R in co-operation with Reaching Out Changing Lives in Vihiga, Kenya.
They were delighted to hear about our work and invited W4R to meet with their delegates when they come to Cardiff for their annual conference in October.
The first for LEARNING LINKS with Swansea and Vihiga, Kenya.
The second for PARTNERSHIP LINKS between Swansea and Paynesville, Liberia.
W4R was the only group to receive two commendations in the presence of First Minister, The Rt. Hon Carwyn Jones AM and the Former Environment Minister, Jane Davidson.
The First Minister said:
“I am continually impressed by the dedication of the Wales-Africa community links groups “.
W4R thanks go to those who have volunteered for us in Africa with ROCL, Kenya and CWFP4 Liberia including:
