We
hope to strengthen the partnership between
Wales and Liberia. Key aims will be to
continue the work on promoting income
generation through gaining new marketable
skills so small businesses can be financed
through micro finance. Future plans also
include the building of a Women’s
Training Centre with an income generating
market attached on land provided free
to the group. Work has already started
on supporting a scheme to increase food
production so that any surplus can be
sold to increase income.
A literacy and numeracy teacher to increase
the ability of the women to use their
entrepreneurial abilities is also vital.
We will expand the network of active citizens
and groups in Wales who wish to get involved
with Women4Resources and Concerned Women
for Progress 4 Liberia by running a series
of workshops in 2008/2009.
We will be mounting an exhibition of photographs
in 2009 taken by women and girls in Liberia
showing their daily life. Women from Swansea
are undertaking a similar project, which
will be included.
This will run in parallel with an international
conference looking at women’s every
day life in the 21st century.
