Great news from Vihiga County in Western Kenya! Our new special fund for giving loans to entrepreneurial women Women in Libraries Mean Business  has had its first beneficiaries. We have given small loans to support three enterprising women to set up a chicken business, a fish business, and a business growing and selling onions and maize. The  women who were lucky this time will have a at least 6 months to pay back the loans. Once the money is repaid we can then support other small businesses run by women in this group.

Soroptomists’ Generous Gift

Every day’s an adventure!  I finally delivered £50 to the office from the lovely Soroptomist ladies of Richmondshire.  I had been there on 9th March to tell them about the wonderful work done by W4R in co-operation with Reaching Out Changing Lives in Vihiga, Kenya.

They were delighted to hear about our work and invited W4R to meet with their delegates when they come to Cardiff for their annual conference in October.
