See us at the Green Fayre

This is our first time at the Green Fayre organised by the The Environment Centre in Swansea, and we are really excited to be part of this well known annual event at the National Waterfront Museum. Come to our stall and get some information about some brilliant projects Women4Resources and our partners are supporting in Wales and Africa. There will also be free stuff to do for the kids and you can get an amazing henna tattoo!

Pop Up Shop and Cafe at the Creative Bubble

Well worth all the hard work from everyone!!! Women4Resources made enough money to keep 3 girls in school in Kenya for six months. The Women’s Refugee and Asylum group did even better. As a result of our Pop Up Event the group got a donation of £ 2000 for travel expenses to make sure that members can continue to attend meetings. We have already been asked when we will do it again and we have our thinking caps on. Although we started with the main aim to do fundraising the outcomes of the 3 days were much more than money. All volunteers said that they enjoyed themselves and we truly did have a diverse group of women all working together.

Hurray for Volunteers

Excellent Volunteers

Happy volunteers.

The Pop Up Shop was manned by volunteers who were very enthusiastic and managed to get customers to buy loads of stuff.

The food cooked by the Swansea Women’s Asylum and Refugee Support Group proved very popular.

Soroptomists’ Generous Gift

Every day’s an adventure!  I finally delivered £50 to the office from the lovely Soroptomist ladies of Richmondshire.  I had been there on 9th March to tell them about the wonderful work done by W4R in co-operation with Reaching Out Changing Lives in Vihiga, Kenya.

They were delighted to hear about our work and invited W4R to meet with their delegates when they come to Cardiff for their annual conference in October.
